Kathmandu- The Kathmandu Police on Saturday evening arrested Manoj Pandey on charges of the alleged rape. A video clip has been circulating widely on social media wherein a woman has accused Pandey of raping her time and again eight years ago.
Pandey reportedly raped her by organizing a night party after the conclusion of Miss Global International, 2014, a beauty pageant. The rape survivor had participated in the beauty pageant.
Acting on the video revelation, a police team from Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office arrested Pandey from Swayambhu.
Pandey was arrested and under investigation, said the police.
Meanwhile, the Police Headquarters has formed a five-member probe team led by Senior Superintendent of Police Basanta Bahadur Kunwar. The committee has been investigating the matter, he said.
